MEET THE FOUNDER

Hey there, I’m Rachna!

Rachna Tewari is a certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and Yoga Teacher whose journey began in Patna, Bihar.

Inspired by the teachings of the Bihar School of Yoga and a deep-rooted connection to her Indian heritage, she embarked on a lifelong quest to explore the wisdom of Ayurveda and Yoga. After completing her training in both Ayurveda and Yoga in the United States, India, and Germany. an essential component of her growth as a wellness coach has been frequent travel to India to spend time with Ayurvedic vaidya’s (Ayurvedic physicians) and master yoga teachers from various traditions.

She’s commitment to sharing this profound knowledge, offering personalized healing and preventative care through Ayurvedic sciences. When she is not working with clients, she loves doing her sadhana of yoga, cooking, spending time with family & collecting diverse Indian handlooms during her India trips.

What does Swasthyam mean?

"Swasthyam" (स्वस्थ्यम्) is a Sanskrit word having two roots: "Swa" (स्व) and "Sthya" (स्थ्यम्).

  • Swa (स्व) means "self" or "one's own." It refers to the individual or the essence of a person.

  • Sthya (स्थ्यम्) comes from the root "Stha" (स्थ) which means "to stand" or "to be established." It implies stability or being in a balanced, grounded state.

When combined, Swasthyam (स्वस्थ्यम्) translates to a state of being "established in oneself" or "being in a state of well-being." It signifies a state where the body, mind, and spirit are in balance and harmony, leading to health and wellness – a holistic concept that goes beyond physical health.

  • "I would thoroughly recommend Rachna Tewari highly. I would say to anybody don’t suffer, try Ayurveda, it works!"

I never thought the menopause would give me such problems in my life. Everything was fine and I was very healthy until last year, when I began to feel very lethargic, I had unbearable hot flashes, night sweats and weight gain. I went to my GP and she explained to me I was suffering from menopausal syndrome. I was told its part of menopause. Feeling hopeless I talked to Rachna Tiwari. She gave me a one-hour consultation during which she asked so many questions about my diet, lifestyle and physiological functions like digestion, elimination and so on. She explained to me very logically about the imbalances my body was suffering from and gave me a diet sheet listing what foods to eat and what foods disagree with my body type, also lifestyle advice and plenty of herbal preparations to take. She prescribed a cleanse for 3 weeks and gave recipes on what I should be eating. After two weeks I was beginning to feel much better and lost 6 pounds. Rachna kind nature, continuous follow up and concern made me continue using the Ayurvedic herbs for three months and all the signs and symptoms I was suffering from have diminished, almost disappeared. I have much more energy now and I feel that I have a new lease of life. Taking the Ayurvedic treatment was the key to recovering my health and vitality.  I would thoroughly recommend Rachna Tiwari highly. I would say to anybody don’t suffer, try Ayurveda, it works!

  • "Rachna teaches you how to be your own healer. Everyone should experience that level of empowerment at least once! "

In February of 2023, I was presented with an opportunity to work with Rachna Tewari on a personal cleanse.  I had done shorter cleanses prior, but nothing so uniquely orchestrated for me. Going into the cleanse, I was experiencing several symptoms including; anxiety, inflammation everywhere! My bladder (I would get strong urges to pee, race to the bathroom and two drops would come out), my hip, my shoulder & neck. My acupuncturist told me I was chronically dehydrated. I was having a hard time eating on a regular schedule, despite my best efforts, I had no appetite. I was waking up with a runny nose & eyes every morning . I had nothing to lose and wellness to gain. My meeting with Rachna was pleasant. She had purposeful questions and listened intently. After our private meeting Rachna created a personalized protocol and we reviewed it in detail. It felt overwhelming to be honest.  There were a lot of things I never heard of, but Rachna reassured me the goal was simply to apply the tools the best I could. So that’s just what I did! While it wasn’t easy, and I made several “mistakes” along the way, the overall outcome was magical! All of my allergies disappeared, I wasn’t peeing myself anymore! And amazingly enough, my yoga practice was the strongest it had been in years!

  • "Rachna is genuinely interested in helping others find their way through their health issues using the ancient medicine of India but with a modern attitude for the American culture."

Rachna has so much to offer to her Ayurvedic clients. She has a calm and caring personality as well as a zest to learn more about her clients and their progress through the protocol. I found Rachna to be engaging but not over-bearing. She is genuinely interested in helping others find their way through their health issues using the ancient medicine of India but with a modern attitude for the American culture. I appreciated Rachna’s professional manner and would recommend her services to anyone looking for help navigating natural health remedies.

  • "Rachna's yoga teaching and her Wellness Coaching using Ayurveda practices is top notch!"

Rachna is a wealth of knowledge! She helps make the ancient wisdom and science of Ayurveda accessible to the modern/Western mind! As a pharmacist and medication therapy management consultant, as well as yoga & fitness instructor and Wellness Coach, I love an integrative - individualized approach to health and wellness and try to help people use medications safely and appropriately, if they are needed. There are many instances where other modalities like food and movement can be added and are beneficial (and often reduce the medication burden). Ayurveda is the sister science to Yoga and is a wonderful way to age gracefully and feel good in your body! Her yoga teaching and her Wellness Coaching using Ayurveda practices is top notch! I highly recommend Rachna and Swasthyam Wellness Center! I have learned so much from Rachna and incorporated Ayurveda into my own wellness regime thanks to her.
